At Computer Aid Kenya, we believe in the transformative power of technology to bridge gaps, create opportunities, and drive sustainable development. That’s why we’re proud to announce our recent donation of 15 computers to support the Digital Economy and Startups (DES) program in Kenya, helping to launch a new Innovation Hub that will empower local communities with digital skills and tools.
A Partnership for Digital Inclusion
On April 17, the computers were officially handed over at a ceremony attended by CECM IDE - Mike Mayo Gumo and CCO DES - David Oyolo Sande. This initiative is a key step toward:
- Reducing the digital divide by providing essential technology access.
- Advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in education and economic growth.
- Enhancing digital literacy through upskilling programs and ICDL certification.
Why This Matters
At Computer Aid, we know that access to technology is just the beginning. By equipping this Innovation Hub, we’re enabling:
- Entrepreneurs and startups to develop digital solutions.
- Students and job seekers to gain critical tech skills.
- Local communities to participate in the growing digital economy.
This project reflects our mission to create a world where everyone has the tools and knowledge to thrive in the digital age.
Thank You to Our Collaborators
We extend our deepest gratitude to the DES program team for their dedication and to all partners who made this possible. Special thanks to Keith Sonnet and Martin Kimani for their leadership in driving this initiative forward.
Together, we’re not just donating computers—we’re opening doors to opportunity, innovation, and a brighter future.
